This year Supporting Older People wanted to give all their members a Christmas gift to let them know they are thinking of them over the festive period.
They needed 260 Christmas gifts, so they sent out an appeal for funding or gift donations and were overwhelmed with the response.
Supporting Older People gave thanks to all the people and organisations who gave money to the fund, including Brigantes Associate Members Full Circle Funerals [link to https://fullcirclefunerals.co.uk], volunteer Amandine Thomas-Bigattin who made and sold masks, Freda Burrell who wrapped the majority of the presents and the team at Beer Hawk who donated 120 cans of beer.
A special thanks was extended to Mike Hammond and the members of Harrogate Brigantes who donated £500, which turned an idea into reality.
Supporting Older People also thanked the many volunteers who gave up their time to deliver the gifts and have a doorstep chat with the recipients.
