This being January, the weather is likely to have a say in where we walk. If we have a bright, fine winter day then I’m suggesting an old favourite which never fails to satisfy. Starting at the car park at Buckden, we walk up to Cray, along the limestone escarpment to Yockenthwaite and then return along the river via Hubberhome. It’s just over five miles, with wonderful views. If the weather does not encourage a drive to upper Wharfedale then I’ll have a local walk in my back pocket of around the same length.
Were you not the finely-honed athletes I know you to be, I would suggest this would be the perfect way to shed the last few Christmas ounces. As it is I shall simply look forward, as usual, to your excellent company. Peter Wood
Needless to say - this was an excellent walk not to be missed
